An Amazing Conclusion is what Libby has to say about "The Eternity Knot" by H.R. Conklin - read more here!!!

We are excited to be here today with H.R. Conklin and participate in the WOW! Women on Writing book blog tour of Book #4 in the Celtic Magic Series, The Eternity Knot. I was happy to share this lovely book and series with my young friend Libby (newly turned adult) and scroll down to read her thoughts! Be sure to leave a comment and show her some love!

GO GRAB THIS SERIES!!

First, here is a little bit about The Eternity Knot:

Mairi has been shown the future and knows humans must change their ways. Continuing on their path of disconnect with Nature will cause the destruction of human life. Tasked by the Seelie Fae to save the human world, Mairi and friends seek out ancient wisdom in the stories of old. The Queen of the Unseelie Fae decides humans have to prove themselves worthy of the Earthly Realm, or die trying. Dark magic makes Mairi push harder to find the answers she needs, but the Undersea Faerie Queen is weighing in and Mairi is uncertain whose side she is on. When young people representing cultures from all of the continents share their knowledge, Mairi finally feels the seeds of hope. Deadly faerie magic is working against humanity, but humans and faeries are working together like never before. As humans begin seeing the earth through ancient views, they are waking up to their dormant powers. Now Mairi must put all the pieces together before time runs out for human life on Earth, and for once she's starting to feel worthy of the task. Join Mairi and friends in this exciting conclusion to the Celtic Magic series.

The Celtic Magic series is a unique tale connecting modern day California to the Scotland of centuries ago. Join Mairi during a life-changing year in this eco-heroine's journey, following the Celtic wheel of pagan holidays through the seasons and time as she meets druids, witches, and faeries of both Light and Dark. Discover what role mythic stories play in saving the Earth from imminent destruction, and what happens when the world is inclusive of all people. This series includes The Trinity Knot, The Witch's Knot, The Faerie Knot, and just finished is book 4, The Eternity Knot!

This book is perfect for teens and adults of all ages who enjoy a modern take on myths and fairytales!

About the Author, H.R. Conklin

H. R. Conklin grew up in the rural mountains of Northern California where her mother gardened and her father played the bagpipes, as well as spending long hours in the theater where her parents were a dancer and an actor. This undoubtedly led to her overactive imagination and love for nature. She currently lives in San Diego with her husband, two adult children, and three dogs. She used to teach kindergarten at a public Waldorf charter school in which she told many fairy tales to the children, and made up stories in her spare time. Now she is a Story Circle Leader and guides parents in homeschooling at a private Waldorf school.

The Eternity Knot, HR Conklin’s 4 book in her Celtic Magic series is an amazing conclusion to the 4 book series. The book itself is a fast paced adventure with siblings Mairi and Jamie MacCrimmon, who with friends and allies of human and fae blood alike are trying to stop and reverse the damage done to Nature. Gaining unlikely allies, and all working together to prevent the Unseelie Queen from wiping out the human race, and to restore the human realm back to a more natural state. This entire concept spoke to me and initially drew me to the book and also kept my interest throughout the tale.

I particularly enjoyed this series with it being based in folklore and having a bit of a time travel aspect to it. The Eternity Knot is full of interesting events and characters.

The Eternity Knot is a perfect read for anyone interested in folklore and preservation of nature. It is a good story with a good lesson on preserving nature, because the destruction thus far will eventually come back to haunt us later, when we can’t change it if we don’t fix it now.

---  Review by Crystal J. Casavant-Otto

The Eternity Knot, as I said earlier is a book you'll enjoy as a stand-alone, but it is book #4 of the Celtic Magic Series. After reading Book #4 and writing my review, I went back and read ALL the other books in the series and re-wrote my review. Before reading the entire series, I thoroughly enjoyed The Eternity Knot and gave it 5 stars, but after reading the entire series, it just made book #4 that much more enjoyable and I'd give it a 5.5 (if only that were possible).

My favorite books are those I can relate to - with characters I feel connected with. The Eternity Knot did not disappoint! Mairi is a character I was immediately drawn to - she is full of flaws yet, her big heart makes her incredibly loveable. She's so much like most of the people in my life - I felt kindred from the start! The relationships depicted throughout the book is what really touched me. I found myself thinking about the story (of course) but also contemplating the relationships and challenges in my own life - and that of my children.

I feel like, right now our world is so unusual and taking a step into a fantasy world felt like a breath of fresh air. Contemplating Women's Issue in a fairytale environment was very relaxing. The Eternity Knot is a fresh look at life and I absolutely recommend not only this book, but the entire Celtic Magic Series of books!

I do not normally read fantasy, but when I read the description of The Eternity Knot, I knew it was a book I wanted to take a chance on. Having kids who are absolutely obsessed with fantasy, folklore and mythology, I thought it was time I gave fantasy a try myself.

With realistic places, problems, and history woven in with the fantasy and folklore, The Eternity Knot was not your typical fantasy read. There was so much more to this story! The characters drew me in and I found myself anxious to see what would happen next, and wanting to see how Mairi would grow and learn throughout the book.

Though fantasy, the story of The Eternity Knot touches on many real life issues, from dealing with the death of a parent, coming of age, to learning to see a bigger picture than just the individual, along with caring for and conserving natural resources. The Eternity Knot is not “just” a fantasy book. It holds lessons presented in a way that lovers of fantasy and folklore will enjoy and appreciate.
