The more you wash these, the softer they get. The font (decorative) side is a cotton and the back is a polyester. They aren't incredibly soft at first, but they get softer the more you use and wash them. The designs are adorable and they stay fastened securely until mom or dad is ready to take the bib off the baby. These are a clothes saver during teething.
