Product Review - Our Favorite Diaper Bag, the Petunia Picklebottom City Caryall

I really spent quite a bit of time looking for the perfect diaper bag. I knew I would be nursing for at least the first 6 months and I knew we would be using cloth diapers. This said, we needed quite a bit of room. Not to mention I'm a large purse carrying girl and we have 3 small children. We needed a family size diaper bag and I'm a bit of a germ-aphobe so my heart was set on the Petunia Picklebottom City Caryall. I fell in love with the roominess, the pockets to help with organization, and absolutely cannot live without the exterior changing pad! The changing pad is removable for washing (and to remove some bulkiness once baby is older) and I've never had that awkward moment where I felt like setting baby Breccan down on a dirty changing table while I dug around searching for the changing pad. I simply set our PBB on the changing table and unfold the pad and then place baby Breccan right on the pad and I have everything I need right at the perfect height!Other fe...

Mommy's Molasses Morsels! (a delicious recipe for a soft molasses cookie your whole family will love)

This particular recipe took quite a few tries to get it right. If you like a hard molasses cookie...please google again and try something else. This is definitely the recipe for those who love a chewey (ie: soft) molasses cookie. Ingredients: 1 cup packed brown sugar (the cookie pictured was baked using regular brown sugar, but in general we preferred the flavor of dark brown sugar) 3/4 cup high quality lard 1/4 cup organic molasses 1 egg (we used a large farm fresh egg from a local farmer - you may need to use 2 eggs if you purchase the smaller store bought variety) 2 1/4 cups whole wheat flour 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves 1/4 teaspoon salt ***3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping...do not mix with other ingredients) Directions: Preheat oven to 340F. Mix brown sugar, lard, molasses & egg. Once well mixed, add remaining ingredients. Shape dough using a rounded teaspoon. D...

Product Review - Cowmooflage Infant Car Seat by Britax

Overall, I give the Cowmooflage Infant Car Seat by Britax 4.75 stars. I think it's best to give a breakdown of pros and cons to help explain my rating: Pros: Easy to install (there's a leveler and the instructions are very easy to follow) Very well built - steel reinforced seat feels high quality and there's not doubt your little prince or princess will be safe Attractive - love the different prints available by Britax - and the Cowmooflage fit is so well (we are dairy farmers) Fabulous snug fit - even a tiny baby will fit safe and secure in this car seat. There is lots of padding Easy to take apart and clean - no car seat is simple to take apart, but I would say this one is easy enough. I didn't break a sweat or cuss at all and the colors didn't bleed or fade during laundering Cons: Odd sized - this particular car seat doesn't fit well in shopping carts...most of the time I did my grocery shopping with 2 carts because the base of this seat didn...

Book Review - The Real World/Hugo the Happy Starfish ebook by Suzy Liebermann

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. Book Review – The Real World/Hugo The Happy Starfish ebook by Suzy Liebermann Review by Crystal J. Casavant-Otto Our family absolutely adored The Real World/Hugo The Happy Starfish ! This book was the perfect length for small children, and the vivid images and bright colors made it an absolutely engaging read. Even the newest member of our family (who is just 6 months) had a fun time checking out the pictures. This was the first book we’ve read by Author, Suzy Liebermann, but we are excited to learn she has an entire list of children’s books to choose from. The children are as enthusiastic as I am about purchasing additional stories about Hugo and his friends. I would highly recommend The Real World/Hugo The Happy Starfish to other families! This one gets two thumbs up from each member of our family!!!! Find author Suzy Liebermann online: http://www.suzyliebermann.com/ Suzy Liebermann – Author B...
