Winds of Change

"As the winds of change began to blow, she braced herself for the inevitable. The future belonged to her and she could taste it. It was sweeter than anything she had delighted in before." Crystal

This quote is my gift to you. If you are familiar with this blog, you may have read a previous post titled: Why A Lemonade Attitude Is A Must Have about the lemons to lemonade analogy where I explain that those lemony situations in life are nothing more than little moments of transitions or catalysts of change if you prefer to think of them that way. They are moments that make you question things, and they may even make you uncomfortable ... but in the end, you are a changed person (with a glass of lemonade - in keeping with the analogy).

I challenge you to think about the above quote each morning before you get out of bed. If you journal each day, maybe this is something you want to write at the top of the page as a reminder. When you find yourself concentrating on life's physical and emotional aches and pains, try to get yourself into the mind set that you are on the cusp of something great. This isn't just about positive thinking - this is about the realization that you really are amazing and this day is a gift and you will do great things today! You can smile at a stranger or say good morning at the grocery store. You can uplift a co-worker by thanking them for helping with something or recognize a job well done. You CAN do these things, but it's up to you...WILL YOU?

Will you fall in love with your spouse all over again today (even though they forgot to take out the garbage for the 47th week in a row)? Will you remember how excited you were the first time you held that child (who has now just thrown up all over your loveseat)? Will you walk into the office excited to have a job, a paycheck, and an opportunity for advancement (even though the log hours are frustrating)?

Do you realize that the future belongs to you? Do you realize you have the ability to make it more heavenly sweet than any sugar or agave nectar you have ever found in the grocery aisles? Do you realize that it's your decision if you are going to delight in this day instead of dreading it?

Feel those winds of change - smell them - and delight in every moment - you deserve it!

May your paths be abundantly filled with lemons, sugar, sunshine, and may the winds of change always delight you!
~Crystal

You Can Speak Your Mind, But Not On My Time?

Today's post title is inspired by the fabulous song that is likely going through your head right now "I still belong, don't get me wrong, you can speak your mind but not on my time...you can live your life, but this is my life..."etc... The topic however is inspired by a dear friend who recently said to me "why is it so hard for people to be real and have a conversation about things they disagree with?" I've been thinking about that queestion and the conversation that it inspired - what she was really talking about is feedback. Why is it so difficult to tell someone that you'd like them to do something differently? We beat around the bush, and sometimes never say what's on our mind. Isn't this really the rooot cause of relationship problems? The cause of dating mis-haps, family arguements, and the underlying issue that often results in anger and fighting? Before you answer, let me toss out some scenarios: 1) You're dating someone ...

Natural Remedies for Depression ?

Have you had those moments when you weren't feeling quite like yourself? Those negative thoughts were creeping in? clouding your judgment? making every day chores seem like amazing feats of heroism? If you've never felt like that - good for you! I on the other hand struggle with life's ups and downs. From depression during my divorce to post-partum depression, etc... I tend to be a very happy and optimistic person, but the flip side of that coin brings those days when staying in bed is more alluring than hopping in the shower and going through the motions of the day. There are some fabulous medications on the market today, and seeking the help of a healthcare professional is always a great idea. Sometimes I'm not feeling depressed, but I fear I'm headed there. I don't particularly care for some of the side effects of medications I have been on in the past, and a natural remedy can sometimes give me just the kick in the pants that I need to 'get happy...
