Lakeshore Baby Love - Breastfeeding Statement

I never thought toddler breastfeeding was for me...until her Ok - I'm hoping that coming up with a title for this post is going to be the hardest part. If you're not into breastfeeding, then really you can scroll and find another post, because this post is all about boobs and how they are used to feed babies and toddlers. I am often asked if there is a Manitowoc/Two Rivers area LaLeche League group. Let me start by saying there is not. The previous group disbanded when the leader moved away and no one stepped up to take on that role. I considered it - I really did! I prayed about it, discussed it with friends, family, my husband, etc... because I love breastfeeding, sharing the love of breastfeeding, and helping women feel empowered when it comes to caring for their babies. So it seems pretty dumb that I didn't step up, right? Well....the LaLeche League has a lot of rules. I totally "get it" - it's a cover your ass kind of world. I don't think they...

Review for: Maxx Elite MaxxDouble Bottle Warmer & Sterilizer

I've been using this for a week or so and it makes life easier. I'm new to this bottle warming routine and since I'm watching my newborn niece I need to thaw breastmilk for her feedings. The lower heat setting works great with the Medela freezer bags. It warms the milk without scorching it or causing concern with plastics getting into the milk. I just drop a bag in a little bit before a feeding and the Maxx Elite will thaw the milk and hold it at the perfect temperature until my little snuggly niece is ready for her meal. It also has a setting for sterilizing bottles, so I can use it for sterilizing not only bottles and nipples, but also breast pump parts. This is a handy little thing to have - as a mom and/or caregiver. Product Review: Elf Star Deluxe Breathable Nursing Pillow and Baby Holder Positioner, 0-6 months, Green

Please enjoy this review of: Elf Star Deluxe Breathable Nursing Pillow and Baby Holder Positioner, 0-6 months, Green (Baby Product) Getting a proper latch during those first few days of nursing is critical and this device can help with that. I am a strong believer in as much skin to skin contact as possible and I felt very disconnected when using this, but I also feel that way with other nursing pillows. I am interested to see what some of my lactation specialist friends think of this. I personally feel this is something excellent for a new mom who has never breastfeed before. Mamaway Underbust Natal Recovery Shaper - Product Review

If you have a perfect body and are never worried about looking smooth and sleek, keep scrolling. If you happen to be looking for a great undergarment to smooth out your tummy, then this is the one for you! I found the Mamaway Underbust Natal Recovery Shaper to be absolutely wonderful for what it was intended for, but I also have a few more things to add: -This shaper is used with your regular bra (or nursing bra) so it smooths you out without compromising your shape - This shaper is generous in length so provide full coverage down to the top of your hips - This shaper provides coverage while breastfeeding by helping provide another "layer" - This shaper goes up high in the back so you don't have to worry about embarrassing 'back fat' I can see how this is great for someone who just had a baby, but it is also a great shaper in general for anyone looking to smooth out their shape. Other shapers provide a built in style bra which is not always very flatteri...

MamaWay Newest Far Infrared Sleep and Nursing Bra for milk production

Let's start by saying that most women don't enjoy wearing a bra to bed, but most of us have to when we are breastfeeding. It is important that the bra provide a little support without pinching, binding, or anything uncomfortable. It's nice when you find a bra that doesn't feel like a bra (trust me, that makes sense). The Mamaway sleep bra does exactly what I described above - it gives enough support to keep "the girls" comfortable while you sleep, but the material is light and airy and you can easily forget you are even wearing a bra. It does fit well enough to hold nursing pads in place by the way - in case that is a concern. As far as addressing whether or not it increases your milk supply - I feel like it must. I started wearing it nearly 2 weeks ago and my nursling is now only waking up once at night and she seems to be going longer between daytime feedings as well. I don't pump, so I can't really give you a measurement other than by how full s...

Awesome Mamaway Nursing Bra Review

It took me a while to write this particular review...because I am very particular about nursing bras. I am exclusively nursing our daughter who is over a year old. I am convinced that most nursing bras are only made to last a short time...I've had plenty of them that were great at first and within a few months they were literally falling apart. I wanted to make sure this was not the case with the Mamaway bra. I don't want to endorse or review something and tell you to buy it and have you disappointed. I washed this bra by hand, I washed it in the machine, I line dried it and I machine dried it. I wore it to bed, I wore it out and about. I clipped it and unclipped it and put it through rigorous testing. I can say without a doubt that this is one heck of a great nursing bra. Here are some of the things I really like: 1) nice supportive and attractive fit 2) easy to snap and unsnap for nursing 3) well made straps that are comfy on my shoulders 4) removable padded cups tha...
