Soliloquy Sunday #6 - 2025 Deep Sunday Thoughts About What Really Makes a Memory (2/9/2025)

Deep Sunday Thoughts about What Really Makes a Memory! This is what happened at our house yesterday - it didn't cost much more than a trip to the grocery store but hopefully it's a priceless memory! We like to do this thing on Slow Saturdays (usually the only day we aren’t rushing) and we call it Big Breakfast. Everyone places their order the night before and we make every single thing! Some mornings there’s pancakes and French toast, eggs 2-3 different ways, oatmeal, potatoes AND bacon. It’s very seldom everyone agrees, but when the food is ready we sit down like you would on thanksgiving and relax, talk, share funny stories, etc… sometimes it takes hours before we start cleaning up the kitchen. It’s one of my absolutely favorite traditions and one I hope they always remember! Todays Big Breakfast: Milk Apple cider Pineapple orange juice Coffee Buttermilk biscuits Cinnamon rolls w/frosting Scrambled eggs Over easy eggs Well done bacon Barely done bacon Seasoned baby red fry ...

Soliloquy Sunday #5 - 2025 Find a New Book!

Remember the smartest people still have problems in relationships.   Maybe you closed a chapter.        Maybe you closed a book.                            Maybe in the grand scheme of life, this was a book you started reading and it sucked but                          you tried your best to finish it anyway and it finally fell into the sink full of soapy water and                          now it's ruined and you're secretly relieved you don't have to read it and you hope it's no                     longer in print because if it shows up at your door (thanks Amazon) you'd be right back to                 ...

Soliloquy Sunday #4 - 2025 Where do my emails really go?

I seriously can't be the only person who sends an email and waits and waits and waits only to be told "I never got anything from you" - or is it just me? I'm to the point now where my first sentence asks the recipient to let me know that they received the email and it's not lost in cyberspace. I'm beginning to think that smoke signals or tin cans with strings are more efficient than the internet.  I try not to let my anxiety get the best of me. Sometimes when I reach out and hear nothing, I find myself thinking: "no one likes me", "they must have me blocked", etc... when in reality I think most of the time it's really just an internet thing and my emails are lost somewhere - but where? Are they lonely wherever they are? Are they ever coming back? What should I be doing instead? Today's post was penned by Crystal J. Casavant Crystal Casavant writes. Everything. If you follow her blog you have likely laid eyes on every thought s...

Soliloquy Sunday #1 - 2025 What is this anyway?

What exactly is soliloquy Sunday and why do we need it in our lives? Well, the truth is you may not need it, but it happens to me on the daily so I may as well share... do you ever just look in the mirror and have an internal dialogue with yourself? nope? ok then... well I do. This is where I work this all out. It comes out of my head and onto this blog and you can take it or leave it. My hope is that something may strike a chord or provide you with some sort of value. My Nana would complain that she hated Sundays because no one comes to visit. She pointed out that basically the fun ends by lunchtime Sunday and people buckle down into work week mode. This is so true now that I'm a mom. Sunday afternoons we do any shopping for school stuff we need for the week, we fill out the calendar and make any necessary adjustments, we finish any homework and get everything in order for the week. Sunday late afternoon early evening is a bit depressing at the fun has left and we are full on into...
