Are We Lost?

Are We Lost? Picture it...an SUV loaded with a cooler, several changes of clothing, and four occupants. I was driving, my uncle was in the passenger seat, and my two young children (5 & 6) are buckled in the back seat. The vehicle is headed "up north" for a visit with some relatives who believe it or not, the children have never met (totally my bad there...). I am 34 weeks pregnant and 36 years old so my physician has given me strict instructions to stop every 45 minutes and get out to stretch my legs. We've already stopped several times; the first time we stopped at a cheese factory and the second time at a gas station/fast food restaurant, and now we are less than 30 miles from our destination and it's time to stop yet again. I'm sort of an adventurer so the sign that read "horse back riding, wagon rides, and orchard this way" sounded way better than staying on the highway and looking for yet another cookie cutter establishment. Andre's Caramel Corn Recipe

Who doesn't love a family fun project? We really enjoy a project that creates a treat, so we want to share one of our favorites with you. We found the original recipe on line and made some adjustments and changes to suit our family and we now refer to it as "Andre's Caramel Corn Recipe" since he helped me make at least six batches over the holidays. Water Fun For the Whole Family - in Wisconsin

Remember the song by TLC called "Waterfalls"? I just loved that song and it brings back some great college memories... Don't go chasing waterfalls. Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to. This post isn't really about that - it's about chasing waterfalls right in your own back yard (for readers here in Wisconsin). I can assure you that the children and I have a ton of fun and we usually do it right here in Wisconsin. We spend time at the family friendly Hilton in downtown Milwaukee, Betty Brinn's Children Museum, and then there's one of our favorites: CHASING WATERFALLS - yup! I am encouraging you to go and chase them! Check out all the waterfall opportunities in Marinette County Wisconsin:  http://www.exploringthenorth.com/waterfall/marinette.html We have personally visited many of the falls listed on this link and I have some amazing pictures of my children enjoying all sorts of fun (we started taking this trip when the...
