I thoroughly enjoyed reading Helena P. Schrader's "Moral Fibre" and would recommend this historical fiction novel to anyone highschool age or older. My middle grade readers enjoyed the story but some of the harsh reality seemed a bit confusing for them. I did however share parts of Kit's story with them as they were intrigued by the cover art and wanted to know what mom was reading.
Kit's heroism and ability to push himself beyond the fatigue and stress of war is admirable. Author Helena Schrader is a talented author and her characters are well-developed which drew me in right away. I was fully invested in Kit's tale from the very beginning of "Moral Fibre". There's so much to enjoy about this book - the characters, the storyline, the dialogue, the romance, and the historical accuracy - it's definitely a page-turner.
I'm happy to give "Moral Fibre" 5 Stars and look forward to sharing this novel with friends and family who will undoubtably enjoy it as much as I have.
