review of Sprucebay Insulated Picnic Basket - Strong Aluminum Frame - Collapsible Design for Easy Storage - Take it Camping, Picnicking, Lake Trips, or Family Vacations - Keeps Food Cold
Please enjoy this review of Sprucebay Insulated Picnic Basket - Strong Aluminum Frame - Collapsible Design for Easy Storage - Take it Camping, Picnicking, Lake Trips, or Family Vacations - Keeps Food Cold
I have been using this picnic basket daily for the last 2 weeks. There are a few things you should know:
1) This basket is attractive
2) You can hold a decent amount of food/drinks in here; it's quite sturdy
3) it will keep food cold for hours
4) it's pretty gender neutral and your sons or hubby won't be afraid to grab this and go
5) it's easy to carry and the zippers move smoothly
We are dairy farmers and we are in the middle of corn chopping season. That means I am feeding not only my 4 children, but also a group of hungry men sometimes 3 meals a day. I can pack this picnic basket full of sandwiches, chips, apples, drinks, and cookies and then head off to delivery the goodies. There is always that one guy (usually my father in law) who eats several hours after every one else, and I know if I keep his food in the Sprucebay insulated picnic basket it will be just the right temperature when he is ready to enjoy. Instead of using a bunch of plastic bags when I make lunches for multiple people, I feel great about using this basket and creating less waste. If you do spill something, it wipes clean with a damp cloth.

Mia Sarine 18K White Gold Sterling Silver Diamond-Cut Cubic Zirconia Huggie Women's Earrings Offered by Prime Jewelry
These earrings are lovely, however they were smaller than I expected. The part that goes through your ear is a little on the wide side and I found the earrings to be uncomfortable for wearing long periods. They came unclasped easily and I was worried about losing them.

Review of iPhone 6 / 6s Case, ESR Hybrid Protective Case with Soft TPU Bumper +Hard Back Cover [Scratch Resistant] Cover Case for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6(Mint Mandala)
This case is very pretty. You'll have complete access to your phone/camera/all buttons/plugs, etc... and it will cushion your phone if you drop it. I like that it's a bit clear so you can still see what the phone looks like. So many cases completely hide the phone. The case is well made and seems quite durable.

Vedica Organics - 5 Star Product Reviews
I was recently introduced to a lovely company called Vedica Organics. I fell in love after reading this on their website:
It was my absolutely pleasure to try some of their amazing products. I chose to try the Wheat Chakki Atta (what flour), the Organic Red Chili Powder/Regular, the Organic Chickpea Kabuli Dollar (organic garbanzo beans), the what maida (bakery flour), and the Organic Garlic Powder.
Here were my findings:
Organic Red Chili Powder/Regular
This deliciously flavorful chili powder has such a wonderful robust flavor and just the right amount of spice. Complements tomatoes just beautifully in chili, spaghetti sauce, salsa, soup, and so much more. Sprinkle a little bit on your eggs or on an egg dish to bring out the flavor of the eggs. Similarly use some the next time you make a pork roast in the crockpot. I love that the powder is organic but even better, I love the delicious flavor and versatility!
I received this product at a reduced rate in exchange for my honest review.
Garlic Powder
I'm pretty sure I use garlic in most every dinner I make - it's a natural antioxidant but also tastes absolutely yummy! Add it to homemade pizza, spaghetti, garlic bread, throw into egg dishes, scrambled eggs, sprinkle on your popcorn, etc... and knowing that this Vedica brand is certified organic certainly gives you peace of mind knowing you're providing your family with the best! The garlic powder has a pungent and savory flavor and a little bit goes a long way; you'll have this size container for quite a long time.

Chakki Atta (Wheat Flour)
I was a little scared since I've never had luck making Indian Style breads before - but the Vedica Organics Chakki Atta made it much easier than my previous attempts. I appreciate that the product is certified organic as well as being low in gluten. My bread didn't turn out great, but that had nothing to do with the Chakki Atta and was more of an operator error type problem. I would certainly buy this product again as I'm sure I'll bet better with more and more practice.
I received this product at a reduced rate in exchange for my honest review.
Organic Chickpea Kabuli Dollar (Organic Garbanzo Beans)
These beans were a little harder to work with than what I'm accustom to. I think it's all about personal preference and I'm just going to stick with buying my beans from a can. Having to soak them overnight was a bit of a pain and I didn't appreciate the extra step. That really has nothing to do with the product though. Once I got past the soaking part and used the beans to make my hummus I realized why people might prefer dried beans. These were much more flavorful and made for a rich and delicious snack with pita bread! I barely added any extra seasonings because the plain flavor of the Kabuli Dollar beans was so extraordinary!
I received this product at a reduced rate in exchange for my honest review.
Wheat Maida (Bakery Flour)
What an easy to use product - You will love that it is certified organic. You can use it as an all purpose flour and it's excellent for baking pastries and cakes. If I could get the hang of preparing Indian breads, it is great for that also - but for now I have used it for preparing regular homemade rolls as well as quick and easy cakes! Vedica offered excellent customer service and the products arrived in well sealed containers.

5 Star Review - Disney Bambi Women's Platform Lace-Up Sneaker
These shoes are adorable but also provide nice ankle support. The thick sole makes them comfortable for wearing all day. The sizing is great and they fit comfortably right out of the box. My daughter wears them to school and says they are comfortable for all day wear including gym class and on the playground. She also said they're nice for walking out to the bus (on our gravel driveway) as well as riding her bicycle. She loves the Disney pattern and the comfy feel.

5 Star Review - Carly Creation I Love You To The Moon And Back Silver Expandable Charm Bangle Bracelet
This bracelet is simple, understated, and elegant. I slipped it on last evening and was impressed with the way it goes on. There are no clasps to wrestle with and you don't have to worry about it falling off. I even wore it to bed to make sure it was truly comfortable. It's shiny and adorable. This would be a great buy for yourself as a pick me up, or as a gift for a friend or daughter. It's nice and sparkly and the message is oh so sweet! It's comfortable to wear as an everyday piece too.

SUZARU Professional Chef's Ceramic Kitchen Knife Set Offered by Suzaru Ltd.
I'm a busy mom who likes to prepare our meals from scratch. We also do a lot of gardening which means plenty of canning happens in our kitchen. Every year or so, I seem to find one particular knife that is wonderful. The children refer to it as "Mom's Knife" as it's the one I like to use for everything from slicing carrots to dicing onions and preparing a cheese and sausage tray. Unfortunately, most knives only last a year or so and then something falls apart on them. I'm sure this will not be the case with the Suzaru Professional Chef's Ceramic Kitchen Knife. It really is built to last. Something that is important to me is how the knife feels in my hand. Does it feel top heavy or is it comfortably weighted? Does my hand get sore after I've been chopping for awhile? ETc...I most recently used the Suzaru when chopping tomatoes for salsa. I chopped A LOT of tomatoes and then moved to onions and peppers. After a busy day of canning, this knife still felt comfortable, it cleaned up easily, and it is scary sharp (that's a good thing)! I'm impressed with the look and feel of this knife.

TripWorthy Electric Pencil Sharpener - Battery Operated and Heavy Duty (NO CORD!) - Ideal for No. 2 and Colored Pencils - Small , Compact and Durable - Adult and Kid Friendly - Great for Home , Office or School
The first thing i fell in love with is the slim design - and I also love that this is battery operated (it's actually a love hate relationship because I love not having to find a spot to plug it in, but I hate the fact that my husband will grab it for his desk or my children for theirs). This is a very popular item at our house for sharpening homework pencils, colored pencils for art projects, and pencils I use for editing or writing. This sharpener is well built and works well. We've had it and been using it daily for a week and there is no difference in how it performs. I'm sure we will be happily using this for years to come. Might also make a great teacher gift for the holidays.

WOW! Women on Writing Book Blog Tour - Review by Cathy Kwilnski of "A Killer's Grace" by Ronald Chapman
Thank you to Cathy Kwilinski for today's review of: ”A Killer’s Grace” and thank you WOW! Women on Writing for allowing us this opportunity to participate in the book blog tour with Ronald Chapman.
Review:
Journalist Kevin Pitcairn’s journey begins with an unexpected letter from Daniel Davidson, a serial killer facing execution. Pitcairn suddenly finds himself considering ideas about guilt and redemption that the people around him, even his beloved girlfriend Maria Elena, find abhorrent. Readers of A Killer’s Grace just might find themselves embarking on a similar journey as they make their way through this book. Ronald Chapman has created a stunning and remarkable tale that challenges how we think about grace.
Chapman keeps the story moving briskly. Pitcairn is a complex, sensitively drawn protagonist who is easy to love despite his flaws and weaknesses. He brings the reader along with him on an intense journey to meet the people who live in the ripples of Davidson’s crimes, from family members of victims to media personalities and members of the clergy. At the same time, the reader experiences Pitcairn’s inner struggle, especially as he grapples with guilt over his own history of violence.
I especially appreciate the central place in the story that Chapman gives to Alcoholics Anonymous, its members, and its guiding philosophies. Characters like Pitcairn’s sponsor Clint make his journey warm, realistic, and accessible. They seem to fit perfectly in this story and add to its richness.
For the most part, Chapman steers clear of heavy-handed treatment of the various people and groups who express their views throughout the book. However, I wish he gave a more thoughtful, nuanced voice to some of Pitcairn’s critics. Some, such as the fundamentalist Christian church members who attack Pitcairn’s ideas about universal innocence, come across as shrill and unthinking. There should be room for a healthy critique of the radical concept of innocence in the book, but few step forward to make that argument. Instead, the fact that there is evidence for a neurochemical basis for aggression is allowed to stand almost unchallenged as proof that people who act violently are innocent of evil.
Still, A Killer’s Grace is a rare treasure of a story. It reveals its surprises and insights with a flawless sense of timing that kept me turning page and page, always wanting more. It is a profoundly engaging and moving story with a powerful message about understanding, even when people’s actions are at their most horrific and perplexing.
Questions for the author:
1. I found myself waiting for a reaction to Pitcairn’s public confession of his secret crime. What was your intention in leaving that part of his story unfinished?
2. How have the ideas in A Killer’s Grace been received by the public? How has your experience compared to the fictional reactions to Kevin Pitcairn’s writings on innocence?
Bio: Cathy Kwilinski lives in Wisconsin with her husband and son. She
works as a software tester and enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with the teens of her church's youth group.
“…a work of fction, it was inspired by a real letter from a serial killer…important and compelling… will stay with you long after the last page.”

“A Killer’s Grace delves deep into the human psyche… Those who have experienced abuse or violence in their own lives will not only relate to the story, but may find their own self-discovery journey unfolding alongside Kevin’s.”

A Killer’s Grace will stay with you long after you finish reading the final page. From the high desert of New Mexico comes a tale of mystery, murder and redemption. When journalist Kevin Pitcairn receives a disturbing letter from a serial killer, he is drawn into a compelling journey with profound psychological and spiritual implications, not just for the murderer, but for himself and society as a whole. As he tries to investigate and then tell the story, he finds himself battling his own inner demons and sordid history. Events conspire to propel an isolated matter to a national stage and audiences that are increasingly hostile. Forced to explore the roots of human psychology and sanity, Pitcairn must navigate moral and philosophical realms. What is the nature of evil? What powers of choice do humans actually possess? How may we be redeemed? And in the end, how do we reconcile with ourselves?
“…a work of fction, it was inspired by a real letter from a serial killer…important and compelling… will stay with you long after the last page.”

Review for: Maxx Elite MaxxDouble Bottle Warmer & Sterilizer
I've been using this for a week or so and it makes life easier. I'm new to this bottle warming routine and since I'm watching my newborn niece I need to thaw breastmilk for her feedings. The lower heat setting works great with the Medela freezer bags. It warms the milk without scorching it or causing concern with plastics getting into the milk. I just drop a bag in a little bit before a feeding and the Maxx Elite will thaw the milk and hold it at the perfect temperature until my little snuggly niece is ready for her meal. It also has a setting for sterilizing bottles, so I can use it for sterilizing not only bottles and nipples, but also breast pump parts. This is a handy little thing to have - as a mom and/or caregiver.
I received this product at a reduced rate in exchange for my honest review.

LaCuisine 6 Piece Glass Storage Container Set (Kitchen)
Please enjoy this review from: La Cuisine KTLKG6 Lacuisine 6 Piece Glass Storage Container Set (Kitchen)
We've been using these containers for a few days. They work great for leftovers, but are also a nice size for veggies. I like to have carrots, celery, peppers, (or whatever is seasonal) cleaned, cut, and ready to go for my kids to grab as a snack. These La Cuisine containers are a nice size for keeping several servings in. The covers fit well but are much easier to operate for little hands. Even my 2 almost 3 year old understands how to open these and close them. Both the glass and the plastic/silicone covers are dishwasher safe. We've washed them several times and are quite happy with the results.
I received this product at a reduced rate in exchange for my honest review.

How Do You Do a Video Review on Amazon?
You've asked and here I am answering! (the first thing you should know is you cannot upload a video using the mobile Amazon version - or if you can, I haven't figured out how)
1) I write my product review on Amazon and then before submitting it, I copy and paste the entire review into Facebook with the privacy set to "only me" (this you CAN do from your mobile device if you prefer)
2) I click submit on the review for Amazon and wait for the Gods of Amazon to do their thing and approve my review
3) I go to Facebook and edit the post I just made. I add the product link to my Facebook post and then I change the privacy settings from private to public or friends (whatever you're comfortable with - depending on the product)
4) I record my video portion of the review - using my iphone 6SPlus.
5) I copy the Facebook post and then I post the video from my phone onto my youtube channel and paste the FB post information into the description. It usually takes less than 5 minutes for the video to upload to my youtube channel and then my screen shows "share with friends" as an option and I copy that link
6) I paste the Youtube video link as a comment on my Facebook post so I can get back to it when I want to
7) Now I go to my desktop PC (if you aren't there already). I open this link http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001002.htm and scroll down to bullet 2 then paste in my youtube video link and click the "download video" button
8) This opens a new browser tab that takes a bit to load (less than 2 minutes) - once you see the preview of your video, click the "download" button
9) The video will begin downloading to your PC
10) Once the video is downloaded, you can edit your review which will hopefully now be accepted into Amazon and can be found under the "Your Reviews" section
11) Add the video and wait a few minutes until it's completely uploaded and click the submit button for your review again
Viola'!

"A Killer's Grace" review by Alison Taylor
Thank you to Alison Taylor for today's review of: ”A Killer’s Grace” and thank you WOW! Women on Writing for allowing us this opportunity to participate in the book blog tour with Ronald Chapman.
Alison's Review:
I was blown away by Ronald’s Chapman’s novel “A Killer’s Grace” for a multitude of reasons. Chapman’s style really connects to the reader on many levels including but not limited to: suspense, trauma, nature, relationships, and spirituality.
I was immediately hooked from the time Kevin Patcairn (main character/journalist) received a letter from a convicted murderer. The criminal is begging to be understood rather than be labelled a “monster” for the horrific crimes he has committed. I’ve always been a sucker for crime stories and this one proves no different. It delves into the criminal psyche and tries to show a potential “reason” or “root cause” for the unacceptable behavior. As a special education teacher, I observe and work with a variety of behaviors, but it’s the story and rationale behind these behaviors that can really stimulate or paralyze positive change. To be successful, I realize the importance of seeing beyond the action and moving into the grey area of “why?” This is where growth and change can happen – beneath the surface and beyond the superficial.
Throughout the novel, Chapman weaves in Pitcairn’s shortcomings. Namely alcoholism and acts committed under the influence of drugs and alcohol. This gives Pitcairn a kindred-ness or a common thread (if you will) with the convicted killer. Chapman crafts an amazing connection between the healing needed by both the journalist and criminal. Time and time again, he weaves in a thread of trauma and the cyclical effect it has on our fragile humanity. The truth is those who experience trauma very often commit traumatic acts on others or inwardly in their own lives (ie: self-destructive tendencies).
After reading this book, I must visit New Mexico!! I thoroughly enjoyed the setting of “A Killer’s Grace” and appreciate how Chapman used Pitcairn’s hikes throughout the novel as his therapy. Chapman’s beautiful storytelling style allowed me to see the colors and feel the air as I read. Pitcairn’s hikes with his dogs were so meaningful and therapeutic for both Pitcairn and the reader. A true example of the healing effects that nature and walking can have on a person.
One of my most favorite parts of the book were the relationships. I so loved the supportive and unending love between “Cito” and Maria Elisa. I also appreciated the amazing bond between Pitcairn and his two AA sponsors. The author clearly did a lot of research into the recovery process as well as the beliefs of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Innocence. Forgiveness. Interconnectedness. I knew I liked the book, but it took a totally unexpected turn for me when it introduced a very deep and complex dive into spirituality. Mind blown! This book made me reconsider my own judgements towards others and reminded me to look deep into myself prior to pointing any fingers at others.
Chapman is a true artist. Not only is he is able to develop intriguing characters and an interesting plot, but on top of that urges his readers to examine some important social issues as well.
Bio: Alison Taylor is an educator, a mother, a wife, a friend, and oh so much more. She lives along the Branch River in beautiful rural Wisconsin with her husband and four children. Alison's favorite authors include Nickolas Butler and Glennon Doyle Melton.
—Kam Aures, reviewer for Rebecca’s Reads
“A Killer’s Grace delves deep into the human psyche… Those who have experienced abuse or violence in their own lives will not only relate to the story, but may find their own self-discovery journey unfolding alongside Kevin’s.”

WOW! Women on Writing Book Blog Tour - Review by Penny Harrison - "A Killer's Grace" by Ronald Chapman
Thank you to Penny Harrison for today's review of: ”A Killer’s Grace” and thank you WOW! Women on Writing for allowing us this opportunity to participate in the book blog tour with Ronald Chapman.
Review: While this may not have been my choice of genre in the past, “A Killer’s Grace” has provided me an eye-opening view into the lives and minds of the vibrant characters. Based on true events, the letter with which the story begins was written by a serial killer with a very serious request for help. Without giving too much away, the story follows a columnist’s personal psychological struggle with addiction and his past, as well as delving into the psyche of the death row inmate. The vistas described vividly throughout paint New Mexico beautifully. The characters are equally real and engaging, making the pages turn quickly. Pitcairn’s choice to pursue the story he knows is there, even against his editor’s better judgement, mirrors his determination to redeem his past choices and failures. His journey is filled with thrilling discoveries, disappointments, proven friendships, losses, support, and love. If you are looking for a mystery, thriller, and love story combined, you need to pick up this Robert Chapman novel. I’m glad I did.

and equal opportunity crafter with a very busy schedule. In addition to her “day job”, she is also an independent consultant for a craft company and has a small craft business. She lives in a small town in Wisconsin on the shore of Lake Michigan and enjoys her summers, “cooler near the lake”.

Product review for IPhone 6s/6 Plus 5.5 inch case waterproof drop.
This case is super easy to use - I received it less than an hour ago, did the water test like the instructions indicate, and it's already on my phone and I have peace of mind knowing my phone is protected. It went on easily but fit snugly. The instructions are easy to follow and you can tell this is a quality made item. My phone is still just as easy to use as always, and it doesn't add a lot of bulk.
Here I am a few days later adding to my review: I can't figure out how to attach the wrist strap. I also can't seem to get my silence button on the side of the phone to work. I didn't notice this until I went to church last night and couldn't silence my phone without turning it off completely. I don't see any other comments that others had problems with this, so maybe it's just me?
I received this product at a reduced rate in exchange for my honest review.
