I was recently introduced to a lovely company called Vedica Organics. I fell in love after reading this on their website:

It was my absolutely pleasure to try some of their amazing products. I chose to try the Wheat Chakki Atta (what flour), the Organic Red Chili Powder/Regular, the Organic Chickpea Kabuli Dollar (organic garbanzo beans), the what maida (bakery flour), and the Organic Garlic Powder.

Here were my findings:

Organic Red Chili Powder/Regular



This deliciously flavorful chili powder has such a wonderful robust flavor and just the right amount of spice. Complements tomatoes just beautifully in chili, spaghetti sauce, salsa, soup, and so much more. Sprinkle a little bit on your eggs or on an egg dish to bring out the flavor of the eggs. Similarly use some the next time you make a pork roast in the crockpot. I love that the powder is organic but even better, I love the delicious flavor and versatility!

Garlic Powder




I'm pretty sure I use garlic in most every dinner I make - it's a natural antioxidant but also tastes absolutely yummy! Add it to homemade pizza, spaghetti, garlic bread, throw into egg dishes, scrambled eggs, sprinkle on your popcorn, etc... and knowing that this Vedica brand is certified organic certainly gives you peace of mind knowing you're providing your family with the best! The garlic powder has a pungent and savory flavor and a little bit goes a long way; you'll have this size container for quite a long time.

Chakki Atta (Wheat Flour)


I was a little scared since I've never had luck making Indian Style breads before - but the Vedica Organics Chakki Atta made it much easier than my previous attempts. I appreciate that the product is certified organic as well as being low in gluten. My bread didn't turn out great, but that had nothing to do with the Chakki Atta and was more of an operator error type problem. I would certainly buy this product again as I'm sure I'll bet better with more and more practice.

Organic Chickpea Kabuli Dollar (Organic Garbanzo Beans)


These beans were a little harder to work with than what I'm accustom to. I think it's all about personal preference and I'm just going to stick with buying my beans from a can. Having to soak them overnight was a bit of a pain and I didn't appreciate the extra step. That really has nothing to do with the product though. Once I got past the soaking part and used the beans to make my hummus I realized why people might prefer dried beans. These were much more flavorful and made for a rich and delicious snack with pita bread! I barely added any extra seasonings because the plain flavor of the Kabuli Dollar beans was so extraordinary!

Wheat Maida (Bakery Flour)


What an easy to use product - You will love that it is certified organic. You can use it as an all purpose flour and it's excellent for baking pastries and cakes. If I could get the hang of preparing Indian breads, it is great for that also - but for now I have used it for preparing regular homemade rolls as well as quick and easy cakes! Vedica offered excellent customer service and the products arrived in well sealed containers.
